CARBON CIRCLE COMPLETES STUDY CONTRACT FOR HAVSTJERNE CO2 INJECTION UNIT

Preparing the future for large scale injection of CO2

OSLO – October 20, 2024 – Carbon Circle AS continues its involvement with the innovative Havstjerne CO2 Injection License, having recently completed another multidisciplinary engineering contract with Stella Maris CCS. This four-month study included the design of post-combustion CO2 capture units and offshore infrastructure utilities for large-scale CO2 sequestration.

The Havstjerne project is a large-scale initiative to collect liquid CO2 from various locations across Europe, transport it to an offshore injection site, and inject it into a subsea reservoir.

The Havstjerne license (EXL006) is situated in blocks 9/3, 9/6, and 10/4 in the southern NCS, with Harbour Energy holding a 60% operatorship and Stella Maris CCS owning 40%.
